Atlas VPN: “…Happy 2023! I hope you’re having a good start to the new year.As it has been a while since our last update, I’d like to inform you about the latest changes that have taken place at Atlas VPN and are planned for the near future.
First, we’ve implemented a 5GB data cap for free users of the Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS apps. However, we plan to expand our free subscription bundle with streaming-optimized servers by the end of the month. Free users will be able to take advantage of streaming-optimized servers in two locations: Los Angeles, US, and New York, US. As for our premium users, we have added the Atlas VPN app for Linux to the premium offering.
We have also started upgrading our infrastructure with 10Gbps servers which are available for premium users on our iOS, macOS, and Windows apps, with Android support coming later this month. The 10Gbps servers are currently limited to the Netherlands location, but we plan to expand our 10Gbps network to cover as many locations as we can in the near future.
We’re also continually increasing our server selection. Atlas VPN currently has over 750 servers in 45 locations across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania, with at least 6 more locations to be added in the next two months.To clarify our data handling practices, we have updated our Privacy Policy. We also completed an independent audit of our Windows app conducted by cybersecurity experts from MDSec.
It’s also important to mention that we have renamed our Tracker Blocker feature to SafeBrowse. However, apart from the name, the feature has stayed the same. This feature and the Data Breach Monitor feature are now available in the Atlas VPN macOS app.Another notable update is the auto-connect and quick-connect functions implemented in iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows apps. Our Windows app will also have pause VPN functionality, which should be released by the end of the month.
In addition, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows apps had their UIs reworked to enable translations into other languages. These UI changes will also be implemented in our Android TV and Fire TV apps in about a month.Finally, we have started supporting payments in cryptocurrencies. We’re also working on offering a buy-it-now and pay-later subscription option, which will be launched in about two months…”
